Planning Christmas
This time of the year, planning begins for the family Christmas. As my family consists of adults, we probably will have 9 young adults between 28 and 36 plus Greg and myself, and this year my brother Tim will join us.
To make it a fun time, we introduced Secret Santa and as such the past few years we mix up who gives to who. I drew up the list and sent out the invites. We also do a Mean Santa present whereby everyone brings a novelty gift under $20. These get put into a bucket when they arrive and I number them. Each guest is given a number and will receive the gift with the matching number. The gifts can be swapped with the numbers below them ONLY. The only person who doesn't get the option to swap is number 1.
This becomes quite fun, as the gifts in the past have been very random ; peanut butter, gingerbead house kit, socks, calendar, word games, can of beer, Trump toiletpaper and even $10 in a box. Usually at the end of this the participants end up swapping by negotiating, it is hilarious to watch.
This photo was taken when we did a silly Xmas theme, all wearing Xmas Tshirts.
Some of the Mean Santa and Secret Santa Gifts.
We also have someone dress up as Santa for the gift giving and compulsory photos.
It was a very successful Christmas. Great to celebrate together,
