Life in Lockdown....again
Unfortunately this Covid 19 is still spreading fast in our community. Victoria for some reason now has a surge of cases on its hands and we have to suffer the consequences, going into lockdown again.
For me this time round is more foreboding than the last time we were in lockdown. Only a month ago, we came out of it, too soon apparently. I am fortunate to be able to work part time giving support to a family with a child who has autism. This is an essential service. Greg works from home as do my 2 sons. Hazel and my daughter in law work in hospitals so that's also deemed essential.
However it is the idea of not physically seeing my adult children which I find heart breaking, even though our visits are casual and at times spasmodic. We can't arrange dinners or meet ups and will just have to wait 6 weeks. Phone calls are not the same.Michael already feels isolated so I have to make sure we all as a family check on him regularly. Also my future daughter in law from Ireland is devastated at not knowing when she can travel home to see her parents. Its the not knowing that causes so much anxiety. Jason and Sarah's wedding is up in the air again, all this I carry on my shoulders as a mum.
However, I am thankful I have a comfortable home, loving husband and family, plus a full cupboard and fridge of food, thanks to foresight at the weekend.
As with the previous lockdown and at other times when I have been incapacitated, I create a project, to keep me occupied, this time I will undertake to make each of the 28 hats/beanies in this book. I ordered the book at the start of the last lockdown but it arrived when the lockdown.was over.... It will be good to use up some of my wool stash. This is a challenge I iook forward to. These hats/beanies will be going to charity.
